The little puppies, separated from their mothers far too early, look out of their cages from open suitcases. At flea markets in Eastern European countries such as Hungary, it is not unusual for there to be a small dog section alongside the normal stalls, where the animals are sold for less than half the normal price.

But as long as there is demand, these “dog factories” will continue to exist.
